Therefore Lord Shiva ordered his followers or his army to go in the north direction. He ordered them to get the head of the first animal that they saw facing that direction. It is when they all find an elephant. The army of lord shiva cut the animal's head, and then they implanted it on the body of lord Ganesh.

The best place for the pooja or the worship of Laxmi Ganesh idols is the northeast corner of the house in which a person is living. This place is often known as the pooja mandir, in which the deities are often placed. Many people often believe that a sitting posture is the best for doing the pooja, while other people believe that this does not matter much.

Goddess Laxmi is the mother of Lord Ganesh, should always be seated to the right of Ganesh in every idol because the left place is always meant for the wife. Any mistake in placing these idols in this situation is often believed to bring a bad omen to the house in which it is placed. Finally, the most important thing in any pooja is complete devotion and love towards God, without any selfish intent in mind.
